North Carolinians need legislators with a business perspective and practical work ethic to lift our state from its current economic distress through the development of viable economic growth created by both small business and larger manufacturing and technology industries. The agricultural industry must meet this challenge as well by transforming to meet the demands for food and energy in the new global market. Most importantly, North Carolina needs a well-educated, skilled, and healthy citizenry to embrace and staff the businesses fueling this economic growth and development.
